Emozionante giro con la slitta in un ambiente incontaminato Sebbene avessimo prenotato un "Sit & Drive Combo Tour" e dato che eravamo 2 adulti e 2 bambini, ci sono... read moreSebbene avessimo prenotato un "Sit & Drive Combo Tour" e dato che eravamo 2 adulti e 2 bambini, ci sono state fornite 2 slitte in cui entrambi gli adulti guidavano per seguire la slitta della guida.
Abbiamo fatto circa 18km di percorso in 1ora e mezza in un ambiente ovattato e lontano da tutto ma non sono previste soste per foto per immortalare il momento.
Alla fine abbiamo dato da mangiare ai cani, li abbiamo slegati e accompagnati nei loro recinti. Abbiamo fatto una merenda con dolcetti e bevande calde davanti al fuoco.
Abbiamo avuto la possibilità di giocare con i cuccioli di cane.
Siamo stati lì tra Natale e Capodanno e in totale abbiamo speso circa 500€ in 4 ma tutta la Lapponia ha prezzi elevati. Ci siamo trovati molto bene, l'esperienza merita e lo consigliamo, soprattutto a famiglie con bambini. read less

Upon enquiring at the Kiruna Tourist Bureau about things to do in the area, we were surprised to learn that... read moreUpon enquiring at the Kiruna Tourist Bureau about things to do in the area, we were surprised to learn that you could go dog “sledding” in the summer! The sleds are replaced by wheeled carts, but it is the closest experience you will get of being pulled along by a team of huskies, without the freezing temperatures! You learn about the dogs, how they are looked after and how to put on their harnesses and attach them to the cart. You can then take turns “driving” the cart. After the ride, you get to feed the dogs, who patiently wait their turn!
The owners and staff are very welcoming and very forthcoming with information about the dogs. The dogs are very well behaved and are obviously well treated, which is very important to me. After the exciting ride through the forest trails, you enjoy coffee and a cinnamon roll by a log fire. You are not rushed to leave, but instead are invited to enter the dog enclosures and play with the young ones, as well as ask any questions you might have.
A thoroughly enjoyable experience with delightful people! read less

Luckily husky tours had some free spots in the afternoon. We knew it wasn't snowing and was unsure of how the tour would run but they sure did surprise us. This tour was all hands-on; from harnessing the dogs up for your own cart ride to also feeding the dogs after your ride. We got to closely interact with all the gorgeous and one of a kind huskies. Our guide Anna was amazing and so friendly! Not only did we have a great time but we were also chauffeured there and back to our hotel. What a great experience- would definitely recommend! read less

Even though... read moreIt's heartwarming to see those happy and eager dogs. The moment we arrived they really wanted to run. Even though we chose a non-busy day (just the 2 of us), the guide took a lot of time to explain us how to drive the sled and how to leash the dogs. After all dogs have been personally introduced, we were ready to start a 1,5 hours trip through a winter wonderland. Back in the camp they welcomed us with warm coffee/tea, a cinnamon bun and a warm, traditional, fire heated tipi. The tour ended with a cuddle tour through most of the kernels and of course with puppies :)
I would recommend this tour to everybody who loves to be outside in the wilderness and the appearance of happy and wonderful dogs. We were not treated like tourists, we have been guests! read less

Our guide was super friendly and made us comfortable from the start. Answered all our questions and gave us a lot of information about the dogs, how living and working in lapland was like. The tour was beautiful, we could see tree moose in their natural habitat and we got a fika in the middle of the trip to warm up. We got to be with the dogs before and during the trip. After the trip we had also the chance to be with the dogs and help to give them food and see how they do after every trip but at the same time it felt like the transfer was waiting for us and we really didn´t have the time to hang around a bit more has we would l read less
